DELAWARE — November 24, 2025 — Acker’s two-day November US auction marked the finale of a week full of spectacular wine events celebrating Chairman John Kapon’s fifty-fourth birthday in New York City. Held on Friday and Saturday, November 21 and 22, the sale realized $10.5 Million and set 150 New World Records, delivering one of the strongest auctions of the year. A bidding party at a packed Marea brought more than one hundred collectors together in person, and the energy both online and in the room stoked the flames of a market that continues to be on fire.
The week’s celebrations also featured in person two of Burgundy’s rising stars, with Edouard Labet of Château de la Tour and Loïc Dugat-Py of Domaine Dugat-Py present at events, dinners, and in the auction room itself. Collectors responded to their fantastic wines in full force, with Château de la Tour setting thirteen New World Records and Domaine Dugat-Py setting twenty-five. All-time highs direct from Château de la Tour included a magnum of 1979 Clos Vougeot that achieved $1,625, a magnum of 1985 Clos Vougeot that achieved $2,125, and a methuselah of 2012 Hommage à Jean Morin that brought in $4,375. Records direct from Dugat-Py included a bottle of 2005 Chambertin Vieilles Vignes that soared to $6,875, a methuselah of 2009 Chambertin Vieilles Vignes for $18,750, six bottles of 2019 Mazis Chambertin Vieilles Vignes trading at $8,125, and a magnum of 2019 Montrachet that realized $8,125. The presence of these great Domaines underscored the excitement surrounding Burgundy’s next generation and added momentum to an already electric week.
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti swept all Top Ten Lots and nearly seized the entire Top Twenty, with only six magnums of 1982 Pétrus interrupting the run at $52,500. At the top were six bottles of 2009 Romanée Conti in banded OWC and two magnums of 2010 Romanée Conti in OWC, each achieving $106,250. Close behind, six magnums of 1990 La Tâche in OWC secured the number-three position at $100,000. Fourth place saw a tie between four magnums of 1990 La Tâche and three bottles of 2016 Romanée Conti in banded OWC, both bringing in $75,000. They were followed by three bottles of 2010 and three bottles of 2015 Romanée Conti, each in banded OWC and each realizing $68,750. Three further bottles of 2010 Romanée Conti, also in banded OWC, achieved $62,500 and the Top Ten Lots concluded with a twelve-bottle 1996 DRC Assortment in OWC and three bottles of 2008 Romanée Conti in banded OWC, each selling for $56,250.

I’m grateful for all the Birthday wishes and most of all for this incredible market. The auction was electric! We’ve been saying it all Fall, but prices surged even more this weekend.
