DELAWARE – APRIL 14, 2025 – Acker’s April US auction, held on Friday, April 11, demonstrated continued healthy demand for the world’s finest wines in the face of broader market volatility.  Bidders responded with confidence, driving strong results across both Red and White Burgundy, iconic California, sparkling Champagne and blue-chip Bordeaux.  The month’s momentum continues on April 25 and 26 in Hong Kong with what promises to be one of the most important auctions in recent memory, featuring a historic offering of significant proportions from one of the greatest private collections in the world—The Immaculate Collection of The Chairman.

A variety of regions graced the Top Ten Lots, with White Burgundy leading the way.  Three bottles of 2013 d’Auvenay Chevalier Montrachet fetched $52,500 and three bottles of the 2007 vintage was close behind at $47,500.  The second position was shared with three bottles of 2017 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Romanee Conti in OWC, which also brought in $47,500.  A vertical of six magnums of Rousseau Chambertin from 2000 to 2005 claimed fourth place at $37,500, and the fifth position went to Domaine Leroy with six bottles of 2007 Romanee St. Vivant for $30,000.  California joined the ranks in sixth place with three bottles of 1992 Screaming Eagle in original packaging ringing in at $25,000.  The final positions in the Top Ten included a tie at $23,750 between eight bottles of 2011 Domaine Leroy Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts and six bottles of 1998 Château Pétrus, followed by five bottles of 2015 Pétrus and five bottles of 2010 Leroy Clos Vougeot, each of which achieved $22,500.

“It was nice to have a ‘business as usual’ day at the office—because lately, it’s been anything but,” said Acker Chairman John Kapon.  “Following the incredible results and excitement of our La Paulée auction, it’s clear that demand for the world’s greatest wines remains strong.  Now, we’re turning our attention to Hong Kong, where we’ll present the most expansive release ever from a cellar of staggering depth and provenance—The Immaculate Collection of The Chairman.  In a dynamic market, quality always rises to the top, and collectors around the world absolutely cannot miss April 25 and 26 for what promises to be one of the most important auctions of the year.”

Acker’s 2025 auction season continues with the sale in Hong Kong on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26, followed by a US auction on Thursday, May 22.  Consignments are now being accepted for June auctions in Hong Kong, the US, and Switzerland, with weekly web auction deadlines every Friday.  For more information, please email [email protected].
