DELAWARE — June 27, 2025 — Acker’s June US auction, held over two nights on June 25–26, featured more than 1,000 lots and achieved $7.5 million in sales, led by The Pacific Paradise Collection: A Wine Utopia Celebrating Elite Burgundy. This landmark consignment, sourced from one of the company’s most revered West Coast collectors, offered nearly 500 exceptional lots, showcasing predominantly red Burgundy. The sale marked the close of a remarkable first half for Acker, which saw auction volume rise 20% year-over-year even amid global economic uncertainty. With over $80 million in global auction sales, more than 30% market share, and 50% ahead of the nearest competitor, Acker has closed the first half of 2025 yet again as the undisputed leader in fine wine auctions.

The Top Ten Lots in the sale were dominated by Burgundy royalty, led by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Armand Rousseau, and Domaine Leroy. DRC claimed the top three positions with four bottles of 2009 DRC Romanée-Conti selling for $68,750, a twelve-bottle 2000 DRC Assortment in banded OWC bringing in $56,250, and three bottles of 2012 Romanée-Conti in banded OWC following closely at $52,500. The fourth spot was a five-way tie at $50,000 including twelve bottles of 1999 Rousseau Chambertin and six bottles of 2002 Leroy Romanée-St-Vivant, along with three bottles of 2000 DRC Romanée-Conti banded before inspection, three bottles of 2013 DRC Romanée-Conti in banded OWC, and a twelve-bottle 1996 DRC Assortment in OWC. Rounding out the Top Ten were three magnums of 2005 DRC La Tâche in banded OWC, three bottles of 2014 Romanée-Conti in banded OWC, and six bottles of 2001 Leroy Chambertin, each selling for $47,500. Notably, more than half of the Top Ten lots originated from the Pacific Paradise Collection.

“We’re extremely proud to finish the first half of 2025 firmly on top,” said Acker Chairman John Kapon. “From the Three Kings sale in January to La Paulée in March and our inaugural Swiss Auction in June—it’s been an extraordinary season! We’ve brought so many incredible collections to market—The Dragon’s Cellar, The Last of Martine Saunier’s Personal Collection, The Magellan Cellar, The Immaculate Collection of the Chairman, The Considerable Collection of Mr. Big, The Pacific Paradise Collection—one iconic cellar after another. Add to that direct consignments from some of the greatest producers in Burgundy, Champagne and California, and it’s hard to imagine a more exciting stretch in recent memory. To be up 20% in a challenging environment speaks to the strength of the fine wine market, and the trust collectors around the world continue to place in us. The entire team here at Acker has been unstoppable in their commitment to bringing the best wines in the world to the best clients in the world, and we’re charging into the second half full steam ahead with some amazing auctions and events already in the works.”

Acker’s second half of 2025 begins with a live auction in Hong Kong on Saturday, July 19, followed by a short summer break before auctions resume with a US sale on Saturday, September 13 and a return to Zurich for a second Swiss auction on Friday, November 7. Consignments for fall auctions are now being accepted, with weekly web auction deadlines every Friday. For more information, please email [email protected].
