Acker closed 2024 with an impressive $175M in global sales, claiming an estimated 35% share of the fine wine auction market and surpassing $2 billion in total lifetime wine sales. A $4M+ December US auction capped another remarkable year, confirming Acker’s longstanding status as the world’s leading fine wine auction house in America, Asia and Globally—an achievement it has proudly held for almost two decades.
2024 saw Acker increase its global footprint with significant increased revenues in the UK, two $15M auctions, a sale in Singapore for the second year in a row; a historic single-owner Chartreuse auction; and multiple, exclusive Domaine-direct offerings mostly but not exclusively from Burgundy. The company set nearly 4,000 New World Records for wine prices across nineteen live auctions in the US and Asia, in addition to its addictive weekly web sales.
“This was a banner year, and surpassing $2 billion in sales is such an incredible benchmark in our 204-year history, owed in no small part to the confidence placed in us by our clients and friends worldwide,” said Acker Chairman, John Kapon. “To lead the wine auction market is always a tremendous honor, and one for which we remain enormously grateful. We won’t be resting on our laurels, however, and we look forward to sharing some exciting new developments in Europe, Asia, and America coming in 2025.”
Four highly anticipated auctions are already scheduled in the first two months of 2025. On January 18, a single-cellar Burgundy sale has Hong Kong buzzing thanks to The Dragon’s Cellar. January 30 and 31 marks the return of the annual Three Kings auction in the US, featuring three exceptional collections. Acker will return to Hong Kong on February 22 and welcome in the Year of the Snake, and finally, on a combination of February 28 and March 6 and 7, the annual La Paulée auction, commemorating the 25th anniversary celebration of La Paulée, will take place. Special live events are planned on both US coasts, and Acker is anticipating one of its largest auctions of all-time.
Consignments for 2025 auctions are open, with deadlines approaching - January 10 for the February Hong Kong sale and January 24th for the US La Paulée auction. Weekly web auction deadlines are every Friday. For more information, contact [email protected].
